Amino Acid Therapy for Brain Repair: Unleashing Hope for Mental Health

Posted on May 30th, 2023

In the realm of mental health, finding effective therapies for brain repair and overall well-being is an ongoing pursuit. One exciting avenue that has captured attention is amino acid therapy. This approach taps into the power of specific amino acids to support the production of brain chemicals, called neurotransmitters, and promote healing. In this blog post, we will explore how amino acid therapy holds promise for individuals facing mental disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and how it can improve family dynamics and relationships.

Understanding Amino Acids and Neurotransmitters:

Amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, play a vital role in the creation of neurotransmitters—the messengers that enable communication within our brains. By focusing on specific amino acids, we can influence neurotransmitter levels and optimize brain function.

The Role of Amino Acids in Neurotransmitter Production:

Tryptophan: Tryptophan, an essential amino acid, acts as a precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter associated with mood regulation. Maintaining adequate tryptophan levels is crucial for sustaining a healthy emotional state.

Tyrosine: Tyrosine, another amino acid, serves as a building block for dopamine and norepinephrine, neurotransmitters involved in motivation, focus, and stress response. Sufficient tyrosine availability supports mental clarity and resilience.

GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid): GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that helps regulate anxiety, stress, and sleep. GABA synthesis relies on the amino acid glutamine, making it a key component for emotional stability.

Amino Acid Deficiencies and Mental Health:

Research indicates that imbalances or deficiencies in specific amino acids can contribute to mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, and ADHD. By addressing these deficiencies through amino acid therapy, we can potentially alleviate symptoms and support brain repair.

Amino Acid Therapy in Mental Disorders and Relationships:

Depression and Anxiety:

Amino acid therapy shows promise in benefiting individuals experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. For instance, supplementing with tryptophan or its precursor, 5-HTP, has been found to increase serotonin levels and improve mood. Similarly, enhancing GABA synthesis through glutamine supplementation may help reduce anxiety symptoms.

ADHD and Focus Issues:

Amino acid therapy also holds potential in addressing attention and focus issues associated with ADHD. By providing sufficient levels of tyrosine, we can support the production of dopamine and norepinephrine, potentially improving attention span and cognitive function.

Strengthening Relationships:

Amino acid therapy can positively impact family and couple relationships. By improving neurotransmitter balance, individuals may experience enhanced emotional stability, better communication, and reduced stress levels, leading to healthier and more fulfilling relationships overall.

Amino acid therapy holds immense promise for brain repair and mental health. By targeting specific amino acids, we can optimize neurotransmitter production and support overall well-being. If you or a loved one is living with a mental disorder, incorporating amino acid therapy into your treatment plan may open new avenues for hope and healing. Remember, mental health treatment is multifaceted, and amino acid therapy should be used as part of a comprehensive approach. Stay informed about the latest research and consult with a qualified healthcare professional to explore the best options for your unique circumstances.

Together, let’s embark on an empowering journey, embracing the possibilities that amino acid therapy offers to individuals and families facing mental health challenges.

Child Psychology Versus Therapy: What’s the Difference?

Posted on May 7th, 2023

As a parent or caregiver, you may be wondering about the differences between child psychology and therapy. Both fields involve the study of mental health and development in children, but there are distinct differences between the two. In this article, we’ll discuss what child psychology and therapy are, how they differ, and when to seek help for your child.

What is Child Psychology?

Child psychology is the study of mental health and development in children. Child psychologists are experts in child development, behavior, and emotions. They may work with children who have mental health conditions or who are experiencing developmental or behavioral issues.

Child psychologists use various methods to assess and diagnose children’s mental health and development. They may observe a child’s behavior, administer tests, and gather information from parents, teachers, and other caregivers. Based on their findings, they may provide recommendations for treatment, which may include therapy, counseling, or other interventions.

What is Therapy?

Therapy, also known as counseling, is a treatment approach that involves talking to a mental health professional to address mental health conditions, emotional difficulties, or behavioral problems. Therapists work with individuals to help them understand and manage their emotions, behaviors, and relationships.

Therapy can be beneficial for children who are experiencing a range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or behavioral problems. It can also be helpful for children who are struggling with social skills, self-esteem, or family dynamics.

Child Psychology versus Therapy: What’s the Difference?

While child psychology and therapy share some similarities, there are distinct differences between the two fields.

Child psychology is a broader field that encompasses the study of child development, behavior, and emotions. Child psychologists may work in research, education, or clinical settings. They may assess and diagnose children’s mental health and development, but they typically do not provide direct treatment.

Therapy, on the other hand, is a specific treatment approach that involves talking to a mental health professional. Therapists work directly with clients to address mental health conditions or behavioral problems. They may use various approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, or family therapy, depending on the child’s needs.

When to Seek Help for Your Child

If you are concerned about your child’s mental health or development, it is important to seek help from a qualified professional. Some signs that your child may benefit from child psychology or therapy include:

  • Changes in behavior or mood
  • Difficulty with school or social situations
  • Physical symptoms such as headaches or stomachaches
  • Changes in eating or sleeping habits
  • Loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy
  • Difficulty regulating emotions or behavior

If you notice any of these signs, it is important to talk to your child’s pediatrician or reach out to Life Redefined Healing professionals and we can assess your child’s needs and recommend appropriate treatment options, which may include child psychology or therapy.

From Distress to Self-Soothing: The Power of Therapy

Posted on May 1st, 2023

We have to first learn how to be soothed with another before we can learn to soothe ourselves.

What often times happens is that we are left to feel distress alone or our distress is invalidated or punished.

“Go to time out until you calm down”
“You’re so dramatic”
“That’s nothing to cry about”

Or maybe we just learned to function and never share what we were going through.

This pattern inhibits our ability to self soothe and BE with our own emotional experiences. They can feel “too much” “overwhelming”.

In order to turn away from what’s happening inside, we manage by numbing or distracting.

This can look like:

Overworking
Over exercising
Using substances
Constant cleaning
Yelling
Need for someone around all the time
Problem solving for others
Etc, etc, etc.

Therapy can be one of the best spaces to soothe that inner distress and allow for you to learn to be with your emotions again.

Anxiety vs. Intuition: Recognizing the Difference

Posted on April 26th, 2023

Anxiety vs. Intuition How do you know the difference?

Anxiety and Intuition can both protect us from harm. However, intuition has a very sure, loving presence in our body. It is clear and direct. When intuition is present there is no worry or panic.

Anxiety is all fear and worry and what ifs. It asks more questions than gives answers. It can be unsure and confused. It’s concerned with the what next, or opinions, thoughts and feelings of others.

Anxiety is what occurs in the presence of fear, Intuition is what you hear in the absence of fear.

When you have a dysregulated nervous system, the lack of safety and self trust drowns out intuition. It never leaves us but it’s whispers are often missed.

In order to increase the volume of our intuition we have to decrease the volume of our anxiety, regulate our system and come back into a place of safety and balance.

If you are interested in practices that can regulate you find that sense of balance and safety inside, join my email list!

Relationship Wounds: Identifying, Healing, and Moving Forward

Posted on April 18th, 2023

Relationships: Help me vs. Heal me

Sometimes we get into relationships not realizing the very things we want from our partner come from the areas of our life where we were hurt.

Maybe you lacked protection as a child and now someone standing up for you is super important.

Maybe you struggled to feel seen or validated, so now you need a lot of validation from your partner.

Maybe you struggled with friendships and now you want your partner to be your everything but they need a lot of independence.

Maybe you weren’t trusted and now you hate being questioned.

Whatever it may be, we have to be careful of not placing the responsibility of healing these wounds on our partner.

Once we can identify that the wound belongs to us, we can ask our partner to help us in that area. But if we blame or criticize them for making us feel how we felt as a child, we push away the very connection and repair we long for.

It’s also important to note that if you have been unconscious about the places where you hold pain, you might have unconsciously picked a partner that will bring up the painful feelings and may struggle to meet your needs because of their own wounds.

With support and willingness of both parties to take 100% responsibility for themselves and for the relationship change can happen.

If you aren’t in a relationship it’s important to examine the past and get clear on how you were hurt in your past so you can 1) own your own stuff and 2) consciously pick a partner that is more likely to HELP you heal.

Thanking Our Bodies: Embracing the Brilliance Within

Posted on April 12th, 2023

Hey, Body: You were never broken. You were and are always working brilliantly to keep me safe.

I’m sorry for all of the years I didn’t understand this.

I know you get a bad rap, but I see you now. I hear you now. I trust you now.

Even when I fought against you, even when I didn’t listen, you never stopped protecting me.

I acknowledge the work you’re doing. Thank you.

Friend, your feelings are your body’s way of communicating with you. They are armor. Your body does so much work to keep you safe. Have you thanked it lately?

Healing exercise: Close your eyes and place both hands over your heart. Breathe deeply and consciously. As you feel and hear your heartbeat within you, notice how it brilliantly beats without you telling it to do so. Say aloud, “Thank you, heart. Thank you, body.”

The Art of Holding: Developing the Skills to Embrace Your Big Vision

Posted on April 6th, 2023

There’s a difference between desiring big things…and becoming the woman who can actually hold them.

Ambition often feels like living between two worlds:

The one where you are now and the one where you know you’re meant to be.

If you aren’t intentional, the space between can begin to feel like you are in limbo, like your life is on pause until you get “there.” Like until your circumstances change, right now isn’t good enough.

Unconsciously, you begin to expect your big vision to come save you. “I’ll be happy when….”

And the longer it takes to arrive, the more your ambition feels like a curse.

You give away your power to circumstances, without realizing your big vision wasn’t yours to begin with—it was God’s.

And if your power is given to circumstances, rather than to yourself and your co-creation with God, then the “less than perfect” circumstances that come WITH the big vision cannot be held by you.

When you learn to anchor into your identity as the woman who is chosen, the woman who is anointed for God’s big vision to be birthed through you, you become the woman who is responsible enough to be a steward of it.

It can be easy to pray for the big vision…

but have you developed into the woman who can hold what comes with it?

Are you the woman who can:
Hold the pressure
Approach the tough conversations
Commit to the vision no matter what
Face criticism
Disappoint people
Use her voice
Lead when it’s hard to

Become her first. The rest responds to you.

A Message on Pain and Pleasure

Posted on March 31st, 2023

Your capacity to feel pain directly impacts your capacity to experience pleasure.

Think of a time you felt tremendous pleasure.
Now think of a time you felt immense pain.

Notice how both hold sensation. They are both simply…SENSATION.

The only difference between pain and pleasure is simply that we resist pain. We turn away from it. Instead of being WITH the pain, we judge it as bad.

“I shouldn’t be feeling this way.”
“  I don’t want to feel this way.  ”
“Why do I have to be so sensitive?”
 “I’m so dramatic.”
“This shouldn’t be happening.”

When we don’t know how to feel pain, we don’t know how to feel sensation. And if we don’t know how to feel sensation, we also don’t know how to fully experience pleasure, because it’s sensation, too!

The more you can expand your capacity to feel pain, the more pleasure opens up. And vice versa.

Have you ever had a whole new appreciation for your health and “feeling good” AFTER you were sick?  You didn’t know how good feeling healthy was until you experienced the contrast. The increased pleasure was felt because of the heightened pain that came before it.

What if all sensation = aliveness?
What if feeling it all was what made you whole?
What if you stopped cutting yourself in half, only accepting the high-vibe experiences, and instead embraced it all?

Answer this:  What’s one thing that could make this moment 10 percent more pleasurable right now?

What Are The Symptoms Of A Mental Health Condition?

Posted on July 7th, 2022

Mental health conditions can be difficult to understand and recognize. Those who have a mental health condition might not always feel like their feelings are legitimate or valid. If you suspect that a loved one has a mental health condition, it’s important to take it seriously and seek professional help as soon as possible.

Mental health conditions come in many different forms. Some of the most common types of mental illnesses include anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders (alcohol and drugs), eating disorders, and more. Many people experiencing these symptoms might not even realize that they are indicating the existence of a mental illness. Contact LIFE REDEFINED if you’re concerned about your loved one’s behavior or mood.

Common Mental Health Conditions

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Schizophrenia
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • OCD

What Are the Symptoms of Anxiety?

Anxiety is a symptom of many different mental illnesses. The exact cause of anxiety is often unclear and there is a lot of debate available on this subject. It’s also important to keep in mind that not everyone who experiences anxiety will have a mental health condition.

Anxiety is a feeling of discomfort and unease that causes people to feel nervous and on edge. It might cause feelings of fear, worry, and a sense of impending doom. People with anxiety might also experience physical symptoms, such as increased heart rate, headaches, or stomach pains. Therapy for teenage depression and anxiety near me can treat this problem in the early stage.

What Are the Symptoms of Depression?

Feelings of sadness and loneliness are part of the human condition. But when it persists and affects your day-to-day life, it’s known as depression. People with depression might feel hopeless, helpless, unable to make things better, or like there’s no reason to get out of bed.

People with depression might also experience changes in eating habits, such as overeating or undereating. Currently, amino acid therapy for depression is the best treatment for this problem.

What Are the Symptoms of Schizophrenia?

A mental health condition in which people experience a break with reality is called a “disorder of thought.” People with schizophrenia might experience a break with reality that affects their ability to think and function, which is why it’s often referred to as a disorder of thought.

Many people who experience a break from reality might not be diagnosed with a mental health condition. But if feelings of paranoia or hallucinations are present and causing daily life to be difficult, it’s important to get help. A behavioral health therapist can treat this problem easily.

What Are the Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder?

Bipolar disorder is another “disorder of thought” that causes a person’s mood to fluctuate between extreme highs (mania) and extreme lows (depression). People living with bipolar disorder might have experienced a mood swing before, but have forgotten about it or not recognized it as a mental health condition.

The symptoms of bipolar disorder are a little different for each person. Common symptoms include: Feeling very happy one minute, and then very sad, angry, or irritable the next without any clear reason. Therapy for adolescent depression can be a solution to this problem.

What are the Symptoms of OCD?

People who experience OCD often feel driven to perform certain repetitive activities, such as washing their hands or constantly checking things, such as the door or furnace. People with OCD might feel driven to keep performing these activities or might feel they shouldn’t be performing them.

OCD is a mental health condition that often goes undetected and untreated. There’s no single, correct way to describe what someone with OCD experiences, and there’s no way to determine whether a person has it based on what they do. You can contact online counseling for depression to fix this problem.

Mental health conditions can be difficult to understand and recognize. If you notice any changes in your loved one’s behavior or mood, it’s essential to take it seriously and seek professional help as soon as possible.

Mental health conditions can be difficult to detect and diagnose, and their symptoms can be very similar to other problems that might cause someone to feel sad or anxious. It’s important to remember that the best way to prevent mental health problems is to seek help and get treatment.
